Position Assessment: Coming into leadership as a freshman representative there are not that many big responsibilities personally but enough for our whole freshman representative team. From our responsibilities at Core Camp to now, a lot has happened for us as a group. We are in charge of our class-t shirt sales which we dealt with so far during Pow Wow and Club Rush. Multiple cash box forms were filled out for those events along with receipts for pre orders and master lists for t-shirt sizes and names. Both of those times selling ran smoothly and all tools including tables, chairs, and other decorations were planned for ahead of time. The procedure for is still being filled out for both those events, but it is almost finished and we are just waiting on a group review and a few signatures. We have sold over 100 shirts which is very good, how our master list got messed up, and we did not order XL or XS so those are some minor fixes. This year freshman representatives are in charge of ticket sales, planning a theme, and setting up for the Halloween dance, which is coming up in October. We are meeting as a group hopefully next week to discuss this event especially as well as the other upcoming events. There is also Homecoming, decorating our float, and Winterfest, decorating shopping carts, as well as the Student Staff Basketball to organize and plan along with many more small events.
Standing Committees: As a freshman representative, I am currently not on any standing committee but I the future I hope to work with the Coronation and Winterfest as well as Publicity and Spirit.
Special Committee: For special committees, I am also not on one but would be more than happy to help with as many as I can, especially Kyoto, considering I am not housing kids this year so I would like to do whatever I can to help out with that. As far as it goes for Elias’s committee for the student handbook video I volunteered for that so that will be my first job/part in a special committee, besides the barbecues and tri-tip dinners.
Concerns: I feel like there is a big information gap between everyone else in leadership and the freshman representatives. I know that this is understandable considering we are brand new to this environment, but I think that if we knew more about not just our job but leadership itself and other people’s jobs they we would know who to ask for different information and certain forms. I think having an elder in change of each class group is helpful, but still not enough at some times.
Positive Comment: For how busy it has been recently, I think that Club Rush was an extremely positive event this year. I think we got a lot of participation for it being our first big dress up week, and I was proud of all the freshman who actually participated. Everyone in leadership, at least class officers did a good job of publicizing Club Rush and its details throughout the week. This definitely helped with everything from class-t shirt sales, to back to school dance ticket sales, to club sign ups, and finally to barbeque participation. Shoutout to all of these people for keeping up with their requirements and duties so Club Rush could ruin successfully.
Change: Since this is my first year and I don’t have anything to compare leadership to in years past, I don’t have much change besides the more connection between upperclassmen and lower classmen, mainly freshmen. From what I’ve seen so far, I also think that it would be beneficial to take class period more seriously without distractions; cell phones or side conversations. I think it is harder to get work done when you are not completely focused and thinking about just the idea you are working on. We still get a good amount of work done, but I think more work would get done, more thoroughly with more focus.
My Impact: As I said in the beginning of the year, my main intention this year is to GET ALL FRESHMEN INVOLVED! Coming into high school, most freshmen are nervous and scared of what the upperclassmen will think about them. Going to Core Camp over the summer I realized that upperclassmen aren’t as mean they are stereotyped to be. So I take that fear away from freshman, and show them that getting involved would help them reach out and meet up classroom, showing that they are nicer than you think. I also want to show freshman that it is okay to be yourself and embrace it. You shouldn’t let anyone judge you are telling you what you should and shouldn't;’t do because you are amazing with out their opinion.

ASB Reports September-October 2019
Name: Gabriella Ilardi
Position: Freshman Representative
Date: 10/23/19
Position Assessment: Since August, the freshman representatives have been struggling. These past two months we have been all over the place with t-shirt sales, homecoming, and the Halloween dance, but we have done our best considering we are only Freshman. For the t-shirt sales, our master list got messed up so some people didn’t get there t-shirt and said they ordered them so we had extra so we gave them those. We also had trouble with the ordering, we didn’t know that you couldn’t order an XL, so multiple people asked for one, and we said you could so that was false advertising on our part. After t-shirts were semi dealt with, we jumped right into homecoming a trade unprepared. We started prepping for the float, making signs and painting cutouts, about 3 weeks before, and we didn’t start assembling it until a week and a half before. However, I think it turned out good and our PO with the decorations came in on time. During homecoming we also had the lip sync battle for the Night Rally. Cade Ciser and I were in charge of this, and I think it out pretty good overall, considering we started practicing the week of. Homecoming was fun and stressful, but for our first one I think it was as good as we could do. The only thing to fix is time-management and preparation. The last thing we did in October was organizing and hosting the annual Halloween Dance. This probably more smoothly than the other events cause we had an idea of decorations, so that part was easy. The tickets were all good, we sold a lot on the day before the dance, which is when I worked, and all the cash box forms were turned in. However, we were unaware of the halloween dance procedure form that was supposed to be turned in 3 weeks before the dance, and we left the check for the DJ in Mrs. Green’s office the night of the dance. Once again, lack of communication and time-management bit us in the butt.
Standing Committee: For Standing Committees in these past months, I helped with the Senior Nights for fall sports and Coronation for homecoming. Natalie is the student leader of both of these committees, and I met with her at coronation meetings, along with the senior nights. For the Senior nights, I went to both water polo and golf, but missed volleyball because of a golf tournament. I plan on going to the football one as well. For Coronation, I attended all of the meetings and help decide how we were going to relive the homecoming king and queen, and I also help hand flowers, sashes, and crown/metal to with Emma and Mackenzie to give to Niki which she then handed them to the candidates.
Special Committees: Coronation is also a part of Special Committees as well, so other than help hand out the supplies for the candidates and go to the meetings, I helped set up the red carpet for the rally where the candidates were announced. I am also apart of the Tri-Tip Fundraiser Committee, which is happening tomorrow from 5-7pm. In this committee, I am apart of box assembly with Kate, Caryssa, Troy, Nico, Alyssa, Katelyn, and Gianna, where we will be putting the food; chips, potato salad, cookies, sandwiches, inside of the boxes.
Concerns: The major concern I’ve had recently, especially these past few months is lack of communication. The freshmen representatives have been struggling a lot with catching up from the rush of homecoming and complications from t-shirts sales, so we are already behind more than we should be, and the miscommuntican between all of us is not helping. Things will be said one day and then the next they are changed, I think this problem is caused because we are not all on the same page when planning important things, such as the Halloween Dance. Some of the freshmen reps are getting important information from people, and then not sharing that to the rest of the group, which leads to false assumptions and problems.
Positive Comment: Something that I think was good and positive throughout the months of September and October, was participation in spirit. Homecoming week was a huge success, and there was a lot of competition between all of the classes. Even though at the end it got a little out of hand because the competition was so intense, I think that it is better for it to be too intense then have no participation and energy at all. Other than Homecoming, I feel like the percentages for regular dress-up days have been higher and people seem to be enjoying these days.
Change: A thing to change relates to my concern, which is lack of communication. I would like to change this concern because it is slowing down the freshman representatives even more everyday. The lack of communication is not just in the reps, however a lot of it affects them, I also think that the communication between the freshman student advisor and the reps could use some improvement. Most of the time the reps have half of the stuff under control and then there is a thing that they knew absolutely nothing about, because they are freshman and haven’t done this before. We could do this by providing a list to the freshman of all the little details for planning an event.
My Impact: Over the month of September and half way into August, I have been trying to help spread the idea to the freshman that it’s ok to be spirited at rallies by cheering or getting points for your class by dressing up. I try to use the seniors as an example because this year their class going taking their spirit to the extreme, and they are cool for it. High School is about having fun, and one of the most important ways to do that is by being proud of your school and class by cheering.

ASB Reports November-December 2019
Name: Gabriella Ilardi
Position: Freshman Representative
Date: December 15, 2019
Position Assessment: As a freshman representative, November was a month mainly spent to prep for the upcoming events in December. So the main things I have done in my position over these past months is called for a meeting with our freshman advisor and the representative to discuss Winterfest along with the holiday night rally and tree idea. In this meeting we talked about the supplies needed and ran our idea over with Mr. Perez making sure it was appropriate. We also planned the days we turn in our PO’s for Winterfest so we could get our supplies earlier than we have in the past, relieving our stress the week prior to the event. For the holiday tree decorating, my job was to make ornaments for our tree with pictures of the freshmen so I printed out these pictures and glued them onto dollies. Now I’m working with on the PO’s for Winterfest, and getting our ideas for our shopping cart, which Abby secured, while filling out PO’s for our class box as we are running low on gym decorations.
Standing Committee: The only standing committee I was on for during these past months was the fall senior nights committee, ran by Nataile Betoshona, which ended in November. I went to almost all of these events and helped support the seniors on these teams by watching their games. The only event I missed was cross country, however I did go to the football, waterpolo, volleyball, and golf events.
Special Committee: For special committee’s during November and December, I helped with the Tri- Tip Fundraiser, Dude Be Nice Rally, and am currently working with my partner, Gianna Brochinni on the Valentines Hearts Crew committee. With my group, I sold tickets for the tri-tip fundraiser and help package the dinners along with count the tickets and meals left over. The group effort of selling tickets could’ve gone by better, but as a class we sold the most tickets than past years. For the Dude be Nice Rally, I helped pass out letters and set up for the rally with the leadership class, and finally for the valentines hearts crew, Gianna and I have already started cutting out our hearts.
Concerns: A concern I have for our program revolves around the lack of communication between our freshmen class. Some freshmen representatives are inactive on their phones, especially in our group chats, which causes a delay in action being taken because we do not have consent by all representatives on ideas for planning events. This lack of communication comes back to our freshman class and makes us look bad when the problem only revolves around a few people.
Positive Comment: Throughout the months of November and December, I feel like the freshman reps have gotten more involved in the activities we do as a leadership program and started to compete more with the other classes, rather than simply be another class of them to beat. From prepping for winterfest, to the holiday festivities this past week, the freshmen are starting to get things under control. Coming from a freshman representative, I am not trying to be cocky, I am saying that it is good that we are finally figuring out how much time is needed to put on a good event because the events we have planned as a freshman team reflect back on the leadership program. So we are trying to fix our past mistakes and make our program look the best it can to our school and community.
Change: Something to change in our leadership program is supplies bought for the Holiday Door Decorating competition. The execution of preparing and decorating the doors themselves was overall very good, however later the day after they were decorated, most of the decorations on the door had fallen off, mainly the ribbon. The ribbon was too heavy stay on the door by blue tape, especially since bue tap is not very strong. The decorations are supposed to stay on for over a week, and it was disappointing to see them fall off the same day they were put on. The wrapping was also only half of the width of the door so we had to cut out and extra strip of wrapping paper to take onto the door so that was an extra item that fell off easily.
My Impact: As freshmen without having any prior guidance from siblings are friends, you come into your first semester finals not knowing what to expect. Finals are much bigger than any test you took in middle school, and being unaware of that freshmen tend to take them for granted. I want to and have been focusing on letting the freshmen how big of a deal finals are, but still remind them that with enough studying and preparation, they will be fine. I want them to be up to speed with the class schedules for those three days, and the night and lunch study groups that we hold at our highschool.

ASB Reports Januaray 2020
Name: Gabriella Ilardi
Position: Freshman Representative
Date: February 12, 2020
Position Assessment: For the month of January, the freshmen representatives took on Winterfest for the first time. We had a meeting prior to this event with our advisor Mr. Perez and discussed how we were going to incorporate our theme Space Jam, into decorations for both the shopping cart and gym at the rally. After this we immediately filled out PO’s for these decorations, and turned them into Mrs. Green. Jaydin and I designed the idea for decrating our shopping cart, made posters, and then we decorated the shopping cart with our other representatives. Our shopping cart turned out looking really nice, and I am proud of the work we put in. We are still getting the hang of our gym decorations, as they turned out a bit sloppy, but overall we tried our best by hanging up posters, streamers, and basketballs to relate to our theme. Other than Winterfest, we started organizing for our next incoming freshmen class fundraiser, Match-o-Matics. We contacted the company and ordered the surveys, after sending out a link for everyone at the school to take the survey. We publicized this event through social media, and we just finished sales today. The profit gained off of this fundraiser is still to be determined, but we sold about half of the survey’s we ordered for $2.
Standing Committee: During the month of January, I was not part of any standing committees because I am no longer part of senior nights, being that fall sports are over.
Special Committee: The special committee I was most recently apart of was the Valentine’s Day Heart committee, which started during the beginning January and then lasted until yesterday. In this committee, I worked with my partner Gianna Brochinni and cut out hearts, wrote kind messages on them, and then hung them up on the windows of the science building (E). I also helped set up for the Talent Show by putting out chairs and hanging up decor, which then I later cleaned up the floors and put our MUB back in its everyday shape.
Concerns: One concern I have for our leadership program is the productivity of workdays. When we are not doing Brene Brown, or planning an event, I feel like we get carried away and distracted instead of doing as much work as possible. We are very busy humans in leadership and almost always have something that needs to be done, but during work days I feel that the temptation of our phones and peers limits us from getting all of our work done.
Positive Comment: This month I think our spirit as a leadership class and school as a whole has been higher than most months in the past. During Winterfest we got a lot of participation on the dress-up days, especially from our candidates. The shopping carts from each class turned out nice, and the week was publicized well, which helped with the participation of dress up days. Our spirit at sporting events has also been much better, especially the home games with the band. The band helps the student section start cheers at basketball games, and keep up the energy level throughout the night, which definitely helps our boys push through when the game is close.
Change: Something to change for our leadership program is finding a better way to send links out to the student body for voting during the election process for all positions required to give speeches (ASB, rally commissioner, and class positions). The links were sent out on superfan, but during the voting period, I heard complaints from some students that their superfan was not working. It is hard to find a platform that all students have access to, but I think that there still needs to be a better solution for this problem.
My Impact: This month, I have tried to continue with my original impact of gettting freshmen involved in highschool activities by telling everyone to join leadership and other electives we have at our school. As applications and meetings for these programs are beginning to take place, most freshmen are unaware of these dead lines, and do not know where to get the applications. Even though it is said on the annocements, I still have been reminding freshmen, throughout the month.
